Position: Full-Time Member Services Officer
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Role Overview
As a Member Services Officer, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional level of service to our members while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Credit Union. You will provide professional, courteous and efficient assistance across multiple service channels, including face-to-face, telephone, email and online enquiries, while also carrying out essential administrative and operational duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a friendly, professional and efficient service to members through face-to-face interactions, telephone, email and online channels.
- Perform teller duties, including accurately processing cash transactions, balancing cash drawers and investigating any discrepancies.
- Process loan applications and provide support throughout the lending process.
- Assist members with account management, including opening new accounts and onboarding new members.
- Respond to member enquiries relating to credit control and the full range of products and services offered by Arklow Credit Union.
- Carry out a variety of back-office administrative and operational tasks as required to support the efficient running of the office.
- Ensure compliance with all internal policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

Essential Requirements
A minimum of one year's experience in a similar customer service, financial services or administrative role.
- Education to at least Leaving Certificate level.
- The successful candidate will be required to satisfy the minimum competency requirements as set out in the Central Bank guidelines, (QFA/CUA (Loans) / APA in Loans/ Pathways CU Diploma / ACCUP. Arklow Credit Union will provide support for the successful candidate to obtain the qualifications if not already qualified.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with Progress Banking software would be an advantage.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
Working Hours
This is a full-time position based on a Tuesday to Saturday working week.
